For hundreds- thousands?- of years they have stood sentinel- sworn to sooner die than abandon their post.

TONIGHT... their oaths shall be fulfilled.

Because, you know.... Kyle is going to kill them... so they'll be dead... that's how killing works. It's science.

THEN... the pathway to Byrgenwerth will be open. Byrgenwerth- where it all began- the Healing Church, the Scourge, the City of Yharnam- this Nightmare of Blood and Beasts in which we find ourselves. It all began at Byrgenwerth- and there, we shall find the answers we seek. There, we shall end it. And that'll be that. Problem solved. Everyone lives happily ever after. Credits roll. Audience applauds.

What could possibly go wrong?

It's not like there's gonna be craaaaaaazy twist and everything is going to go absolutely bananas and ish is gonna get cosmic up ins and everything so far was just the beginning of the insane insanity that abouts to bust loose.

That's very unlikely. Probably.

THEN... we shall continue our epic journey deep within the Labyrinthine depths of the Chalice Dungeons, where awaits all manner of scary monsters and funky stuff! So funky, that we may need to call in reinforcements... Because "A Hunter is never alone."

3 years have passed since The Hunter entered retirement for the second time. 3 long years in which other epic battles have been fought, accolades received, and victories achieved. 3 years since the nightmare of Blood and Beasts was concluded.

But oh, the sweet Blood, how it sings. It’s enough to drive a man mad. The Hunt calls again.

Once, he was among the greatest. In his wake, prey was slaughtered, Kings were humbled, and nightmares were slain.

But that was long ago. Instincts have dulled, reflexes have slowed, and knowledge has faded. He is but a shadow of his former self.
