Charles Schultz' Peanuts characters speak to the child in all of us, stripping away the candy-coated lies of adults with a hidden agenda - laying bear life's most important Truth - That Jesus Christ, the child borne in a manger, should be the treat that we all seek.
Linus, the kid who carries around his security blanket - is also the one who so famously speaks to Charles Shultz' Truth of Christmas: that Christmas isn't about presents and packages and bows - but, instead about learning the true meaning of Love - a selfless sacrificial love, not bought in stores.
In the Great Pumpkin story, Linus' Halloween message is Charles Schultz counterpoint to the occult agenda - that if we continue to accept the sugary lies offered through witchcraft and wizardry, their toxic falsehoods rainbow colored packaging will first destroy our lives - and eventually destroy the lives of our loved ones as well. We must protect our homes and family - and we must close our open spiritual doors to wickedness. We must step away from their celebration of evil - no matter how cute they make it appear.
