The name Christian Rosenkreutz (Rosenkreutz is German for "Red Cross") is a historically well-known pen name which was used by members of the Mystic Order Rosae Crucis, a.k.a. the Order of the Red Cross, a.k.a. Rosicrucian Order, an ancient secret society that is now enveloped within part of the larger organization of Freemasonry, within its York Rite.
