'Completely out of control', witnesses describe Halloween stampede in Seoul

Witnesses described chaotic scenes from the deadly stampede that killed at least 149 people in the South Korean capital Seoul when a huge crowd celebrating Halloween surged into an alley in a nightlife area on Saturday (October 29) night.

A further 150 people were injured in the melee that took place at about 10:20 p.m. (1320GMT) in Seoul's Itaewon district, Choi Sung-beom, head of the Yongsan Fire Station, said in a briefing at the scene.
