Thousands of Sudanese protest "foreign interference"

About three thousand people have taken to the streets of the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, to protest UN mediation efforts between civilian and military rulers.
▪️ The rally occurred in front of the headquarters of the UN mission in Sudan. The crowd reportedly set photos of UN envoy Volker Perthes on fire.
▪️ The demonstrators described the UN-led efforts as "foreign interference" and claimed that the UN envoy "defiled" the country.
