Jesus said in Matthew 16:24 "if any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me." so the cost of following Him is to deny our own way and refuse to conform to this world and decide to be transformed by the renewing of our minds to God's word (Romans 12:2)
