At least 146 dead, 150 injured on Halloween weekend in Seoul

At least 146 people were killed and 150 injured in a crowd stampede in the South Korean capital on Saturday night during Halloween celebrations, according to the fire department.

Around 100,000 people reportedly flocked to the city’s shopping and nightlife center to celebrate the first Halloween weekend without Covid restrictions. News agency Yonhap said many of the victims are women in their 20s and one is a 10-year-old girl. It is not clear exactly what caused the stampede.
