Helium Shortage Raises Concerns Around MRI Machines

Liquid helium, the lifeblood that cools MRI machines, is now at risk since it is a nonrenewable resource found in limited areas around the world. The U.S. was relying on Russia for a larger supply, however, the war in Ukraine has halted almost all trade in that country.
