Steampunk Aviator Cap Tutorial & PDF Pattern

This is my take on a classical WWI aviator cap. The helmet is designed for average adult sized heads. It has an adjustable chin strap with a 20 mm buckle that allows you to fit the cap on.

This steampunk leather aviator helmet is a nice addition to a cosplay costume and it is perfect for film and music industry prop, steampunk, Halloween, dystopia and post apocalyptic parties.

Size:
✪ Head circumference between 22-23 1/2 inch (56-60 cm).

Materials:
✪ vegetable tanned leather - 2.2 mm
✪ for straps: vegetable tanned leather -2.8 mm
✪ 1 mm wax thread
✪ Fenice edge paint

Hardware:
✪ brass mesh
✪ 20 mm rolling buckle
✪ 20 mm D rings
✪ eyelets

Tools:
✪ Olfa cutter
✪ puncher for 1-1.5 mm holes
✪ eyelets puncher
