Russians found out the name of a general who ordered Ukrainians to keep Mariupol civilians hostage
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation revealed the name of the General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who ordered the residents of Mariupol to be used as human shields.
"The identity of the commander of the South and East troop group, Lieutenant General Aleksandar Pavliuk, who ordered the humanitarian corridor to be blocked in order to prevent the civilian population from leaving the city and the use of residents as human shields, has been established," the message states.
These data were obtained during the interrogation of militants from the "Azov" battalion, who carried out the general coordination of actions in Mariupol until its liberation.
"The defense headquarters under the command of Pavliuk was ordered to destroy all persons moving through the territory of Mariupol, including women and children, who do not pose any threat to Ukrainian military personnel.
Pavljuk is currently on the wanted list."
