How to Make The CUBE Leather Camera Bag

In this video we will show you how to make the CUBE Leather Camera Bag. This cross body bag is lined with leather and stiffener.

This can be used also as a tool bag.

The advantage of lining is that you obtain a sturdy bag that will keep its shape over the years.

It also allows you to use thinner leather that will ensure the bag is lightweight. This bag weighs 2.53 pounds (1.15 kg).

Featuring adjustable strap and handle, this bag can be used as a camera bag. There's ample room for a DSLR or mirrorless camera with an attached lens. There's also two handy exterior pockets for phone, keys, memory cards or batteries. The shoulder bag contains in addition a front pocket.

The camera bag features a removable full leather strap which can be easily adjusted to preferred lengths. The bag can be carried by the hand handle, worn on the shoulder or cross-body. It can also be used as your everyday bag.

This project requires around 7.5 sq ft (0.7 sqm) of 4-5 oz (1.6-2 mm) leather for the body of the bag, about the same for the leather lining, around 5.4 sq ft (0.5 sqm) of PITEX Non-woven leather stiffener (or other stiffener for leather bags like Texon), some 9 oz ( 3,6 mm) leather for the contrast.

You will need some leather and some lining for the shoulder strap: the longest piece is around 43.3” (110 cm).

You will find a list of materials, hardware and tools in the PDF pattern file. There is also a link to the video tutorial.
