Making A Leather Backpack

In this video we will show you how to make a leather backpack. It is called Apache backpack as it is I get inspired by an Indian backpack I saw many years ago.

It is slim yet big enough to fit a lot of stuff and a laptop on top of it. It is very useful when riding a bike as it can be fastened on the chest with a removable strap.

SIZE
Height: 20” (50 cm)
Length: 20” (50 cm)
Width: 3-8” (8-20 cm)

MATERIALS
40/47 inch (13 sqf) (1/1.2 m - 1.2 sqm) 5 oz (2 mm) Vachetta leather
3 1/2 oz (1.4 mm) vegtan leather (accent leather)
1 1/2 - 2 oz (0.6-0.8 mm) pigskin (for lining)
2 1/2 - 3 oz (1-1.2 mm) leather (for lining)
leather glue
1 mm waxed thread
edge dye
Make sure to have the length for the shoulder straps.

HARDWARE
4 snap fasteners
1 x 3/4 inch (20 mm) buckle
3 x 1 inch (25 mm) buckles
4 x 3/4 inch (20 mm) D rings

TOOLS
cutter
needles
1.5 mm hole punch
3-4 mm hole punch
cutting mat
mallet
