How to Easily Dust or Trim Natural Hair

As promised, here's how I've been dusting/trimming my ends lately. I find that it's easier for me to see exactly what needs to be cut off, whether it be split ends or single strand knots, when my hair is stretched. It's also easier to feel the different textures from the healthy smooth sections to the rough parts on the ends. ⠀

As you'll see after I flat iron, my hair doesn't look straight and that is done intentionally. If you prefer a smoother finish, simply increase the heat on your flat iron to about 350 degrees. ⠀
⠀⠀
The heat setting I used was about 290 degrees. ⠀

👑Crown Tips:⠀
- Cut your hair on a paper towel or in one specific area to avoid pieces of hair from flying all over, which can be a hassle to clean up afterwards.⠀
-Dust/trim your ends 3-4 times throughout the year, to retain as much length as possible. ⠀⠀
- Create larger sections (than shown in the video) to shorten the process. ⠀

This is a very simple and safe way to get rid of those single strand knots and rough ends. With a low heat setting, your hair is safe from any heat damage, plus you're only cutting off very little hair (if you've been keeping up with your hair trims, prior). ⠀
