2022 – 09-06 – Auditor Daltons “Spokane County Jail Voting Program”

Spokane County Auditor Vicki Dalton meets with Spokane County Commissioners to ask them to request ‘grant money’ which was to come from Senate Bill 5693; a Bill for Supplemental Operating Appropriations. The grant money was NOT requested or approved by the Washington State Legislature to fund a new ‘Project’ to make in Jail voting easier for inmates of the Spokane County Jail system.

Apparently (I could be mistaken) the Spokane County Jail Voting Program is a ‘pilot program’ that will set the path for all other county jails in Washington State to provide assistance to help inmates with different levels of ‘felonies’ to be able to vote from jail.

According to Auditor Vickie Dalton; this is ‘Just the beginning’!

Around 11 ½ minutes in, another presenter; perhaps the Spokane County Jailer, enters the meeting via Zoom, and through him, the ACLU enters the discussion.

‘This is our opportunity to move ahead’ says Vicki Dalton.

I thought that felons were not allowed to vote.
