Garuda Indonesia to become domestic only airline? 🇮🇩

Now Garuda Indonesia has succeeded in restructuring it's towering debt of some 10 billion US dollar with mostly other state-owned companies in Indonesia, it can now focus on it's actual job; that of flying passengers.

Currently they are operating only a handful of international flights, and they are aiming on developing their domestic network with the few airplanes they have left over after sending back over 100 planes since the pandemic broke out early 2020. It is expected that it's low-cost subsidiary Citilink will see an increase in flights to support the network for the full-service Garuda Indonesia operations as well.

Garuda Indonesia is also planning on adding new planes now restructuring is completed and corruption has apparently been cut back as well; hopefully leading to reduced costs for the airline to lease or possibly even purchase planes. Currently, Garuda Indonesia only owns six planes outright, and operates a total of 29 planes, down from 142 before the pandemic.
