Exploring Khao Lak & Takuapa Old Town - Thailand 2022

Khao Lak is on the west coast of Thailand. It has many things to offer like beautiful beaches, nature, waterfalls, temples and much more. If you want to explore the area away from the beaches you won’t be disappointed.

One of the things to see is the 110 year old Khuk Khak Temple. The highlight of this temple is the ordination hall (know as the bot to Thais). It has some amazing murals the show the history of the area.

the next stop is the glamorous Kong Kha Temple. The stunning pagoda is gracefully decorated and was built to honor the late deceased King Rama IX. See magnificent images of the life of Buddha beautifully presented in more modern art depictions.

A few other things to see are the Boon Soong Iron Bridge, governors mansion, countless Chinese shrines and much more.

One thing to include is a visit to the historic part of Takuapa and explore its old town. See interesting Sino-Portuguese architecture and buildings dating back to the 13th century. Check out the town's charming streets filled with Chinese shrines and tea houses.

The best part of a day exploring is that you never know what you will see and do when you start out.
