Here are 5 Chicago Bears keys to victory from Bears Now host Harrison Graham against the Cowboys in NFL Week 8:
- Utilize Justin Fields’ legs: Bears Offensive Coordinator Luke Getsy leaned into Fields’ running ability against the Patriots on MNF by calling 12 designed runs. Fields is 2nd in the NFL in rushing yards among QBs behind only Lamar Jackson and playing against an elite Cowboys defensive line. Fields will need to also use his legs to keep plays alive in this game.
- Bears Offense needs to keep running the ball with David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert. Chicago has the #1 ranked NFL rushing offense with 181 yards per game so far this season. Monty and Herbert have combined 772 yards rushing through 7 games.
- The Bears defense must stop the Cowboys rushing attack. Dallas wants to run the football with Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard. Chicago has done a much better job stopping the run the past 2 weeks and if they can do it again on Sunday, they’ll have a chance to win.
- Chicago also needs to make Cowboys’ QB Dak Prescott uncomfortable. Show him some different looks, and ideally if the Bears can get an early lead and put some pressure on Dak, they’ll be in a good position.
- Jaylon Johnson needs to shadow CeeDee Lamb and win that matchup. Johnson has played like a #1 CB for the Bears this year and Lamb is the big-play WR for the Cowboys.
