Most Addictive Foods That Cause Inflammation, Illness, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Sleep Disorders. Watch out for these! While they are OH SO DELICIOUS, they can wreak havoc with all things health related.
Dairy and milk products are highly addictive, namely because of the milk protein called casomorphin. NOTICE the last part of that word - "Morphin". Yes, like morphine, the opiod. Cheese is the dairy product with the highest amount of this protein.
Gluten is found in many bread and grain foods. Gluten has an opiod-type protein called gluteomorphin.
Sugar releases opioids and dopamine in our bodies. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that is a key part of the “reward circuit” tied to addictive behavior. This is the link between added sugar and addictive behavior.
SO it's no wonder these foods are so addictive!
Processed foods will probably have at least two of these addictive foods. And there's a strong chance the packaged food will have ALL of them. Look the the ingredient labels. When you see a lot of ingredients with names you cannot pronounce, it is a BIG signal that the food is processed.
"So what about processed foods" you say.
Well the more food is processed, the less nutritional value it offers to keeping our bodies healthy and happy.
When we eat food that is only FUN, processed, and addictive, we are not getting the fuel to run our body-machine. What happens when you give a race car only corn oil for fuel? It will break down and fail to run. It is the same with your body and real food.
Non-addictive foods CAN BE tasty, fun, and easy to eat. Granted, you may go through a bit of withdrawal from Dairy, Gluten, Sugar, and Processed Foods. Here's a tip: eat more healthy fats to get through the withdrawal. Healthy fats are olives, avocados, olive oil, and nuts.
