In Kenya, crocodiles are at the top of the food chain. They consume almost everything they can catch, including large animals like gazelles and zebras. They can remain motionless in water with only their eyes and nostrils above the surface, making them stealthy and cunning. They wait patiently for animals to drink from the water or cross the river.
When they reached a river, this herd of zebras had crossed the plain. They were aware that they had to cross, but the majority of animals in Africa are wary of rivers because they are aware that crocodiles are waiting for an opportunity to snag an animal from the banks.Even better if they can capture an animal while it is crossing the river. The first two zebras clearly see the crocodiles, but they take a chance on them, and the crocodiles don't seem to know what to do.Even a well-armed crocodile could be seriously injured by a powerful blow delivered by a zebra in the shallows. After finding a passageway between two of the crocodiles, an unbelievable number of zebras survive. They try to lunge at the zebras with half an effort, but it doesn't look like they get a bite.
The crocodiles have the upper hand when one of the smaller zebras wades through deeper water, but he miraculously makes it through as well.It would appear that a swift crossing close to the zebra in front is advantageous to the zebras. The zebra's hooves stir the mud, making it difficult to see, and the water is murky and moving quickly.A crocodile can't see the legs of its prey because of this.In this daring river crossing, there seems to be safety in numbers. All of the zebras survived this event.
