Thor Love and Thunder is currently struggling to meet the low end projections of a $300M Global weekend open and going forward it is far more likely to play out similar to Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness. My expectation is this film to end somewhere around $750M at best and it may well struggle to reach even $700M. The second weekend will be telling as MCU films now seem to release to healthy opening weekends and then hit a wall immediately after.

Also, we will discuss some seeming discrepancies in Thor Love and Thunder production costs. Is it $200M like all the other Marvel films or is it really $250M? And what might Shang Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings have to do with it?

Meanwhile, Disney Pixar's LIGHTYEAR was tossed out of a whopping 1800 theaters on Friday after continued abysmal performance. Light year has been reduce to 2000 screens, half of what it had to start after only 3 weeks. To compare Top Gun Maverick is still playing in over 3500 theaters coming into it's 7th weekend.
