Why is the Chinese Communist Party a threat to the US?

While the US does have many foreign military bases, the Chinese Communist Party has been purchasing ports around the globe with Party-backed shell companies.

With these ports come Chinese Communist Party intelligence agents.

On October 24th, US Attorney Merrick Garland announced charges against multiple Chinese Communist Party agents who were attempting to influence the outcome of criminal cases in the US and even force the return of US Residents to China.

Note that the Chinese people are great - but their government is actively trying to undermine US law, and the rights and freedoms of US residents.
