When Remarriage is Permitted

According to the scripture,

Matthew 19:9 KJVS
And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, EXCEPT IT BE FOR FORNICATION (Adultery), and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

- As I understand the above scripture, divorce ( the ending of a marriage ) while a husband or wife still lives is only permitted on the grounds of adultery.

- The premise I see in the scripture is that if the Lord accepts the end of a marriage on the basis of adultery as He clearly stated, then the party involved can remarry. He/She is no longer bound to a marriage that has been broken by adultery.

The ultimate question is does the Lord accept divorce (the ending of a marriage) when it is due to adultery? If the answer is yes, then remarriage under that circumstance is not adultery. And if it is not adultery then it not sin, and therefore permitted according to scripture .

IN OTHER WORDS , REMARRIAGE IS ONLY ADULTERY IF THE GROUNDS FOR THE DIVORCE IS NOT LEGIMATE ( THATS IT WASN'T BECAUSE ONE HAD COMMITTED ADULTERY).

- Just to make it clear that I am not advocating divorce and remarriage even on the grounds of adultery. Forgiving the other person is a must, and reconciliation is always the hope, but there must still be a clear understanding according to the scriptures so that in situations where the one who has been unfaithful doesn't want to continue in the marriage, the other knows that they are not bound in the situation.
