South Africa - Cape Town - 20 June 2022 - Brent Seaman from Empire Security Solutions. According to crime statistics for the first quarter of this year, cases of murder within the Western Cape have increased by 12.3% year-on-year. As gang-related violence spirals out of control on the Cape Flats, crime prevention agencies join forces in a sting operation around the crime-invested areas of Mitchell's Plain. Empire Security's anti-hijacking unit, Provincial Law Enforcement, the SAPS K9 unit, and various police clusters, collaborated to focus on the retrieval of illegal firearms and highjacking prevention. In this specific operation, several arrests were made in Tafelsig by the joint policing task group as Cape Town's "Five-O" grapple with increased incidents of hijackings linked to kidnappings.
