Truck Cleans the Runway at Gibraltar International Airport #shorts

This is what it looks like when the Gibraltar runway is cleaned off after pedestrians and cars pass over the highway and before planes land and take off. Although I haven't personally seen the equipment they use to clean off this area, I imagine its equipped with brushes and high powered magnets.

The runway at Gibraltar has to be cleaned every time a plane is landing or departing to ensure there is no debris from foot or vehicle traffic that has just crossed over the runway via the international highway.

There are many security measures in place to keep planes and those on the ground safe during landing, taxi and take off of planes from Gibraltar Airport.

I love how these planes land on a tarmac that is surrounded on all sides by water. This is a must watch to see how close to the water these planes land and take off. There are very few airports in the world like this, that could support commercial airline jets to land and take off under such extreme conditions.

Gibraltar is one of the most dangerous airports in the world because the runway is short, it is surrounded by water on both ends of the tarmac, an international highway bisects the tarmac with cars, bikes and people on foot crossing. The weather caused by the Strait of Gibraltar can lead to brutal crosswinds. The pilots who land here have to be very qualified. Flights to Gibraltar are currently only from the United Kingdom because Gibraltar International Airport is technically a military airport not a civilian one.
