Umaro Sissoco Embalo, President of Guinea-Bissau, and Vladimir Putin note that there has been increased trade turnover between the two countries in recent years.

Guinea-Bissau currently heads the West Africa Council, which represents 400 million people, 550 billion in GDP, and much potential for trade with Russia. The second ever Russia-Africa Summit is scheduled for July 2023 in St. Petersburg.
