Transformer Fire at an east Vernon BC Hydro substation leaves 15,000 with no power

About 15,000 customers were affected from Lavington to Vernon
and the Foot Hills by the massive power outage.
A transformer fire inside the BC Hydro station was reported by BX fire
personnel. Flames could be seen coming from what appeared to be a transformer.
Fire crews contained the fire until BC Hydro arrived at the substation.
The power went off just before 7PM and was restored by 8:30PM.
No cause has been given for the fire as of yet, but, Vernon has been experiencing a heat wave with temperatures reportedly in the forties Celsius.
