We soon may be facing Monthly and/or Annual subscription fees to unlock or use certain functionalities in our cars. These fees could add up quickly! As with the Computer software industry where the new revenue model is monthly or yearly subscriptions (instead of a one time purchase of a software program), so too is the auto industry looking at this lucrative revenue model. How though will this affect the autonomy of car/truck/vehicle ownership?
