ENOUGH
Will I ever be enough?
Not for others, but for myself
Expectations, aspirations; I will never fly that high
Friends, family, passersby
Surface level civility, unconditional love
But what of more?
There is no passion, no comprehension
I try and I try, perhaps it’s insanity
Love is numb; intimacy does not exist

REGRET
Regret. A devastating realisation.
A reimagining of the world.
I do not often feel it, but when I do...
Missed opportunities. Fumbled attempts. Impulsive destruction.
Where is left to go? What water do we tread?
Regret is a bastard.
Still, regret has many brothers.
Despair. Delusion. Doubt.
Hatred. Hysteria. Hope.
Delusion is a bad man, but hope is dangerous.
Hope is not the beacon of light that people make it out to be.
It is the real killer.
Distractions pave the way to freedom.
Yet distractions are toxic to the mind.
Avoidance. Nothing will ever be solved.
How do we proceed?
Do we accept the past? Move on with our lives?
Or do we try again? Sheer determination. Can iron will prevail?
No. I don't believe any of the above really helps.
There is only one way to proceed. One thing to tell ourselves.
What will be, will be.
