Repeat burglary suspect arrested by Atlanta officers

On September 22nd, 2022, Atlanta Police responded to two separate burglaries at businesses in northeast Atlanta, where a suspect damaged windows to enter the locations and stole items from within.

The incidents occurred at Brewhouse Café, located at 401 Morland Ave. NE and Neighbor’s Pub, located at 752 N. Highland Ave. NE. The Burglary Unit was notified of the incidents and were able to pull surveillance of a possible suspect.

The information was disseminated to the department and a Zone 6 officer who had interacted with the suspect on a prior shoplifting incident and was able to positively identify the suspect as Demetrius Holt (Born 1970). At that time, Burglary investigators obtained several warrants for Mr. Holt’s arrest.

October 10th, 2022, a Zone 6 officer familiar with areas Mr. Holt frequents, was able to locate and take him into custody without incident. These Zone 6 officers were integral in identifying this suspect and taking him into custody.

Their knowledge of their areas of patrol and the persons that frequent them show just how in tune they are with their communities. We also would like to thank the Burglary Investigators who took lead on this investigation, collecting the evidence necessary to make this arrest possible.
