Police said some 80,000 people took part in the freedom rally in Berlin in support of the ongoing protests in Iran, where unrest ignited by Mahsa Amini’s death in police custody has continued for weeks, despite a police crackdown. Social media footage shows huge crowds gathered, waving flags and cheering to support Iranian women on Saturday (October 22), and organizers said Iranians had travelled from the United States, Canada and all over the European Union to take part.
