At least one person died and several have been injured during massive protests in Sudan, which marked one year of military rule in the country. According to the Central Committee of Sudan Doctors, since the 2021 military coup, at least 118 people have been killed and thousands more injured.
Protesters took to the streets once more calling for civilian leadership. The October 25 coup, which removed a joint civilian and military-led government from power, was formed after the overthrow of three-time President Omar al-Bashir in 2019.
