The Bega schoolgirl murders is a forgotten Australian story. In 1995, two teenage girls, Leighann Wills and Lauren Barry, were brutally murdered in the town of Bega, New South Wales. The killers have never been caught.

The girls were just 14 years old when they were killed. They were best friends and had been walking home from school together when they were attacked. Their bodies were found in a park the next day. They had been raped and strangled to death.

The murders shocked the small town of Bega and made national headlines. A massive police investigation was launched but no arrests were ever made. The case remains unsolved to this day.

The girls’ families have never given up hope that their killers will be brought to justice. They continue to campaign for information about the case and refuse to let their daughters’ memory be forgotten.
