Results of last night's massive Geranium strikes (23.10.22)

Rocket strikes hit targets in the Kirovohrad, Poltava, Cherkasy, and Vinnytsya regions of Ukraine

Another Sunday morning in Ukraine does not begin with coffee, with Russian troops continuing high-precision weapon strikes across Ukrainian territory. The air-raid sirens began to go off as early as the night before.

On Saturday night, air-raid alarms were sounded in Kirovohrad, Poltava, Cherkasy, and Vinnytsia regions, while sirens also roared in Kharkiv. A little earlier, a missile alert was reported in the western regions of Ukraine. Around midnight, many Ukrainian resources reported that a large group of Geran-2 kamikaze drones had been launched from Crimea. According to the claims, approximately 7-8 groups of 3-4 drones each went deep into Ukrainian territory.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff also confirms that "more than half" of the cruise missiles and drones launched by Russia "were shot down". The Ukrainian military does not provide any confirmation of this, but there is plenty of evidence that the targets were hit. More details on the strikes will appear later.

The missiles struck energy and critical infrastructure facilities in Volyn, Rivne, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Kirovograd, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia, Odessa, and Mykolaiv regions, according to a report by the AFU General Staff

It is worth noting that yesterday will be remembered in Kiev for a long time. According to experts, in terms of the intensity of the strikes, Saturday, October 22, even surpassed Monday, October 10, when the first massive strike on the Ukrainian energy system was carried out. Russian forces reportedly struck the Lutsk-Severnaya substation in Volyn Region, the Rivne and Pobuhska substations in Kirovohrad Region, and the Usatovo and Adzhalyk substations in Odessa Region. Also, a substation control point near Odessa was knocked out, which led to the stoppage of trains. At the same time, the Khmelnytskaya substation, which supplies power to the railway in western Ukraine, was knocked out.

The latest strikes have almost put the entire railway infrastructure in the Donbas and Kherson directions out of operation.
