A new series I’m starting on the 2nd Amendment and it’s importance.
Some stats… -Between 500,000-3,000,000 people a year defend themselves from violent crime in American.
-usually on any given year, less than 400 people are killed with a rifle. This included every rifle and caliber combined, from grandpas hunting rifle all the way to AR-15’s & Ak47’s.
-around 650 are killed with all rifles and shotguns combined.
-between 1,500-2,000 people die a year in swimming pools (mostly children)
-around 1,500 people a year die falling down steps.
-200,000 women defend themselves a year with a firearm from violent attackers.
-there are around 5 million guns in the U.S. that we know of.
-majority of gun deaths are from handguns, roughly 54% of those deaths are suicide. Of those suicides many are veterans
-around 21 veterans a day commit suicide
-the majority of gun deaths are in inner cities, and the majority of those deaths are committed by criminals who can not legally posses a gun, nor do they legally purchase the firearms used.
