In this video, I discuss the two main ways to create the next Bitcoin:

1) Fork Bitcoin and make it better.
2) Create your own harder, better, faster, stronger crypto.

The main problem with the first option is that it has never worked before, and is now even more unlikely to work, since most people will dump the new fork for fiat or more BTC, as has happened with BCH and BSV.

The main problem with the first option is that it involves basically setting up a software company and issuing unregistered securities to fund the project. You can set up the project however you like, but it will still almost certainly violate the Howey test.

Even you don't care about the SEC and regulators, you will still need to convince the world that they should buy and use your money, which has a large pre-mine and early insiders in control. This is not the path to neutral money.

You could even create the perfect, private, neutral money with a fair launch and no pre-mine (something like ARRR), but no one will notice, since you don't have a large marketing budget.

Do you see how special BTC is now?

It was launched and initially distributed to a bunch of math nerds who cared nothing about lambos and riches. It grew under the radar, free from government interference. The founder left the project early on and never sold or cashed in.

No one cares that you can form a software company and create a new blockchain that has big blocks or can do a gazillion transactions per second. That's not neutral money, and can never be the next Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the next Bitcoin.

Bitcoin was a one-time brilliant invention/discovery and historical accident that can never be repeated.

That's what I mean when I say that true digital scarcity can only be invented ONCE.

It was-- and it is Bitcoin.
