A Silent Film in my shop Attempt #2 making a seer

Sorry About this. I was recording video in the shop on my pure Chinesium camera since it has a far better macro lens for close ups. Unfortunately the mic came unplugged. Thus, no sound. OOPS. I will release this tonite as a example of how it is done. Tomorrow will be a more in depth video on the process WITH SOUND -for that one, I am using my Gopro.
What I am demonstrating here is: The Seer on this home made black powder pistol is just a bit too small. it measures .462 in length. So I cut a new seer using the old one as a pattern and made mine a bit longer at around .482 I failed. It was STILL not quite long enough but I have more steel and can use both as a pattern now and make one longer (this time .500). If that also doesn’t work and is too long well, I can then file it down to size. Anyway, I thought even without sound you might find the process of repair on this thing interesting. Next time I will use the GoPro.
By the way, one subscriber said something like “Why not just use your phone?” I am a retired IT professional who worked in Network Security. When I retired I threw out all such devices. My telephone is a ROTARY LAND LINE. I grew up in a world without the need to be attached at the hip to internet and intend to spend the rest of my days also using 1970s vintage communications tech. Screw the Alphabet soup agencies who want desperately to keep statistics on my hat size and taste in breakfast cereal. I guess they will just have to do without….
