Let's go back to the last time each team was great. The Padres went on a World Series run in 1998, upsetting the 102-win Astros and the 106-win Braves. They were stopped by the '98 Yankees in 4 games, a team considered among the greatest of all time. The Phillies made a late-season comeback to clinch the NL East title in 2008 and proceeded to win the World Series. They would make it back to the Fall Classic the next year but lose in 6 games.
