America’s ongoing problem with the Obesity Epidemic, according to studies by 2030 almost half of US adults will be classified as obese. Though there are a lot of common factors around the world as to why there is an obesity problem, how does American culture promotes obesity, and will there be an end to it?

Americans have been getting bigger over the past 150 years, and now more than ever the rapid growth keeps creeping up. Current trends and US standards mislead overweight and obese youth into believing that their body is normal even when it is not. Today, in America the unhealthiest food seems to be the tastiest one, and most of the time is way cheaper than the healthier options. While obesity problems soar up, food portions seem to keep up. Americans had been enjoying large portions, especially their meat consumption.

While all these add to the factors of obesity problems, the rise of technology and social media walk their way through. More and more of them stay-at-home technology makes life easier and ordering food faster. All while social media campaigns promote the body positivity movement, advocating for all body sizes. Creating an argument as to how it is “promoting obesity” in disguise.

In this video, we will talk about how American culture all throughout promotes obesity, and how this problem has been passed down through practices and heredity. Are Americans promoting obesity and will they ever put an end to this?
