Creating music is like writing poetry. One cannot say: "all right, I shall sit down right now, take my pen out and write a poem". Music, like poetry is not a conscious task, it's not about Agency. Not about Volition. Quite the opposite, - it's about once and forever abandoning the silly idea that you're "in control". The only "you" is an illusion generated by the brain, - a daytime persona which almost completely dissolves as one falls asleep every night. Our ancient ancestors, although they lacked the sophistication of science we possess - entertained the same idea: of one becoming a pen for someone or something else. Of being a tool through which divine inspiration channels: Ancient Greeks believed in Muses... I don't know what I believe in being a nerd with a Cognitive Science background. But I FEEL the same whenever I write these kinds of tracks.
