Survival Knowledge VS. Application

There's a big difference between knowledge and application. In the survival community, this is something that we have to be aware of. Just because you have seen it on TV or read it in a magazine, doesn't mean that you have the capability of doing it.

These are skills that you will most likely not be able to master on your first try - even in a non-stressful, non-survival situation. Under duress, it is only going to be that much more difficult to complete.

Here's our tip: Take the knowledge that you currently have and transfer that to the application of the task. Then, take the knowledge you got from the application (what went right and what when wrong) and apply it back to the application of the task to make it that much better.
