UK Prime Minister Liz Truss has resigned and will step down after a week. She stayed 45 days in office during which her mini-budget crashed the markets, she lost two key ministers and shed confidence of almost all her Party MPs.

Liz Truss is the shortest-serving occupant of 10 Downing Street in 300 years' history of Britain.
Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and former Chancellor Rishi Sunak are now expected to run in the Tory leadership contest.

Mr Johnson was ousted from the office on September 6, this year, however, a snap poll of Tory Party members this week saw Boris Johnson emerge as their top choice of successor.
