In Ecclesiastes 11:3 it reads, "If a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it will lie." The direct meaning has to do with the end of a person's life.

Basically, in whatever state the person is in when the die will determine their spiritual eternal destiny. It is serious as well as a warning.

Recently we were visiting the beautiful cemetery where my mother will one day be buried. It is high on a hill that overlooks the vast Pacific Ocean. I walked around looking at all the grave markers reading about many lives of men, women and young people. Many had statements of faith, others had words describing simple lives and accomplishments.

What we tend to all forget is that our lives are in the making and forming by Christ. We get so caught up with all the mistakes, falls and minute slip-ups. But Jesus does not. He is preparing us for another Land to go to.

What a person says at the very end of their lives is the stamp of what they are all about, what and Who they stood for. It is not the beginning or the middle, it is the end that speaks.

In fact the last words of a person before they die are the ones that everyone will remember more than all the other words spoken in their lifetime. This life is a journey Home. The way is rugged, full of risks.

It is always a climbing up. But in the climbing up, power enters in, victories are realized, timeless landmarks are made. The finished work is the final testimony of the believer that seals their earthly walk, their eternal destiny and their glorious entrance into the Heavenly Kingdom.

"In heaven we shall appear, not in armour, but in robes of glory. But here these are to be worn night and day; we must walk, work, and sleep in them, or else we are not true soldiers of Christ." ~William Gurnall
