She answers the Ocean's call to seek out the Demigod to set things right

Moana Waialiki, the lone child of a chief in a long tradition of navigators, is an avid sea traveler. She discovers that the demigod Maui was responsible for the blight by taking the goddess Te Fiti's heart when her island's fishermen are unable to catch any fish and the crops collapse. Moana embarks on an arduous trip across the Pacific in order to convince Maui to give Te Fiti's heart back since it is the only way to bring healing to the island. The movie is based on myths from the Polynesian culture.
