First Walk With Divo The Whippet

After seeing how rambunctious Divo was at home I was pleasantly surprised to see how well he walks for me on leash. He is very nervous and interested in new people, dogs and things. Although nervous he does well over coming and approaching however always remaining on high alert, he is a hound and does have incredible prey drive. For the time being Divo is an on-leash only walk however I do believe his recall is good enough for most situations it is not good enough for potential prey situations. Potential also meaning small dogs out of the corner of his eye. Divo needing the odd reminder not to be too quick around other dogs was definitely much better than I was expecting. My goal is to build our communication to the point he may join the pack walks starting with meeting us there with owner to then progress to coming with me and the pack in the van. One step at a time, last thing we want is to make anyone afraid of the pack experience.
