Did the Kennedy Center theater in DC stop the mask mandate as promised? I'm holding them accountable

I reported exclusively that the Kennedy Center theater in Washington, D.C., announced it would finally drop its mask mandate two days after my report on the unscientific basis of it not preventing the spread of COVID. I hold them accountable on the day the mandate dropped by going to the theater to see for myself if they did all the specific changes they promised.

The theater’s spokesman told me on Oct. 5 the change would not go into effect for two weeks. So I went to the theater on Oct. 18 -- as you see in the video-- to check on the specific policy changes the spokesman told me would be visible to patrons.

The shows at the theater on the 18th started at 7 p.m., so I went to the Kennedy Center at 6 p.m. to look to see if the mask signs had been removed. I also watched to see if the ticket check staff were enforcing the mask mandate before entering the theater.

As you saw in the video I made while seeing “Hamilton” on Sept. 17 –here: https://youtu.be/EQbyLrMBCmc, the Kennedy Center’s mask policy required patrons to wear the mask while sitting in silence in the theater. It did not require masks while talking in lines for security, in the concourse or in any other public area of the building.
