The definition of a godly man in today's culture is becoming more and more ambiguous. It wasn't always that way. On today’s edition of Family Talk, listen as Dr. James Dobson and his dear friend, prominent Christian author and church planter, Dr. Gene Getz, discuss God’s blueprint for masculinity. They also celebrate Dr. Getz’s seminal book, "The Measure of a Man," as it approaches its 50th year in print.

About Today's Guest: Dr. Gene Getz
Dr. Gene Getz is president of the Center for Church Renewal and host of Bible Principles, a daily radio program. He also serves as pastor emeritus at Chase Oaks Church in Plano, Texas. Dr. Getz successfully integrated the philosophy of renewal into a local church setting. He is best known for his 1974 book, Sharpening the Focus of the Church, which examines the church through the perspective of Scripture, history, and culture. This book led to his launching of the original Fellowship Bible Church, which resulted in a movement that continues today in the form of hundreds of Fellowship churches and “Fellowship-type churches” around the world. A popular and prolific author, Dr. Getz has written over 60 books, including "The Measure of a Man" and "Building Up One Another," which focuses on developing local church leaders and Christian character. Most recently, he published "The Men of Character Study Bible." Dr. Getz is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Rocky Mountain College, and Wheaton Graduate School. He also earned a Ph.D. from New York University. Dr. Getz is married to Elaine, and they have three grown children and several grandchildren.
