Since the time the first rover "Pathfinder" landed on Mars in 1997, we came to know a lot about Martian geology and atmosphere. The first fact we realized is that Mars doesn't support life because the surface is barren and hostile to any life form. However, there is overwhelming data available now that supports the view that Mars had water 2.5 billion years ago. Water can foster life, so there can be a chance that Mars had some sort of primitive or advanced life forms billions of years ago.
Mars can be a key to solving the mysteries related to life on Earth, or, Mars can open a pandora box of new mysteries which can make us question our roots and existence.
