Crime rates are going through the roof in many states, and there’s a lot of reasons for increased levels in crime. One of them is the border crisis and mass illegal immigration. Because of this you might have heard a lot more about crimes like drug trafficking and violence and robbery in border cities that you probably weren’t that aware of before. And it’s good we are more aware of those crimes. But what about slavery? You might hear a little more about this crime now because of the crisis at the border, but it’s the crime that people want to pretend doesn’t exist. But pretending it doesn’t exist won’t make it go away. And the fact is that less than 3% of human trafficking victims in the US ever leave their slavery. This is a big reason for why we hear so little about this dastardly crime.

Who wants to treat someone like a slave? Who wants to be a slave? Unfortunately, the reality is that there are people who make a lot of money from modern day slave trafficking — a lot. And the victims are not who you might think they are. They could very well be the girl or boy next door to you. And we are speaking with one of those survivors today, as well as the Executive Director of an organization that supports trafficking victims to leave and heal. These are brave women with amazing stories, hope, and solutions.
