This video documents my cycle-caching ride to find one of the two World Famous Planet of the Apes Caches.
This one is in Washington State, USA.

These caches were placed around the world as a publicity stunt to promote the "Planet of the Apes" reboot movie in 2001: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planet_of_the_Apes

The video goes over the gear I used to get the cache.

I chose to ride my bicycle to this cache since it's a 6 mile round trip hike from the nearest trailhead.

It involves going through a 2+ mile abandoned railroad tunnel (converted to a hiking trail).
Because the tunnel isn't lit, I equipped my bike with a strong headlamp and attached another headlamp to my bicycle helmet.

You want to use a mountain bike with wide knobby tires since the trail is gravel and there are potholes in the tunnel as well as dripping water.
