Ariane Smolderen witnessed first-hand and experienced the transcendental consciousness evoked by the Gnawa musicians of Morocco. Following that inspiration led Ariane to create a series of photographs of people bound by their shadows… these powerful images then served as a means for releasing the dark energies that were imprisoning them.
